Linking Lives – an Eastbourne based befriending charity – is seeking to recruit 100+ neighbourhood befrienders. This Crisis Befriending team will complement the work being done by family, friends and near neighbours seeking to support the large number of elderly or isolated people, needing to self isolate or avoid outside contact, due to the coronavirus. But many will fall outside the family and friends safety net. Could you help us help them?
A mix of regular phone calls, help with shopping, dog walking and other practical support could allow our volunteers to support several hundred people during the challenging 3 months ahead.
You can find out more about volunteering at this challenging time by reading our Crisis Befriender Volunteer Introduction. You can apply to be part of the scheme at our online Application page. You can download the Crisis Befriender Volunteer Application Word file if you would prefer. Return it via email to email@example.com
Linking Lives Eastbourne is a befriending service connecting volunteers from local churches with elderly people for friendship and support throughout the Eastbourne area. The charity is recruiting a team of Crisis Befrienders to respond to loneliness and isolation as a result of the current Coronavirus crisis. A Crisis Befriender is a new short-term role, with an aim of offering regular telephone befriending, shopping and other tasks such as dog walking, to elderly lonely and isolated people over the next few months. For more information about the Crisis Befrienders, please contact Mary Northway on 07930 113 661 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
